Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has advised the public against praying for people God is trying to punish.
In an Instagram post, she told them to be wary of who they pray for, as sometimes one is trying to bless someone God is trying to punish. She noted how such people could be fasting and interceding on behalf of others, and nothing is shifting.
Mary admonished them to pause before they lose sleep. She stated that there might be a reason, like hidden sin, why heaven is silent.
Mary admonished them to be wise and discerning, as not every struggle is a battle they’re meant to fight. She added that not every delay is demonic; sometimes, it’s divine judgment.
“Be careful who you pray for. Sometimes you’re trying to bless someone that God is trying to punish.
You’re fasting, interceding, and nothing is shifting.
Before you lose sleep, pause.
There might be a reason heaven is silent.
A hidden sin.
A consequence.
Something you don’t know and may never know.
So be wise.
Be discerning
Not every struggle is a battle you’re meant to fight.

A few days back, Mary had advocated for furthering one’s knowledge, stating that we are never too wise to learn, as no one knows it all. She further stated that there is more to see, understand, and become, as the world is vast. She admonished the public not to let their success become a ceiling but a stepping stone.

She urged those religious fanatics not to use Christianity as an excuse, as she noted how many who were more religious are dead.

Back in 2023, Njoku posed an important question to celebrities on life after stardom. Pointing out how no one stays at the top forever, Mary questioned what would become of them once their fame ended. She further asked if they have a real life to fall back on or have burnt down their real life.
Last year, the wife of Jason Njoku had sent a wake-up call to social media users. She revealed that she misses the days when people would confront others when they mess up and have team conversations with them. She noted how what people do these days is to become keyboard warriors and seek sympathy and temporary fame.
