Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, has said he and his Portugal teammates want more after qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Portugal qualified by beating North Macedonia which had defeated European champions Italy in the World Cup Play-offs.
Sharing on Facebook after the game, Ronaldo stated that the victory has brought smiles to the team. He, however, stated that Portugal won’t be sitting on the achievement due to their ambitions.
He wrote, “There are many ways to reach the desired destination, sometimes the path may not be as straight as what we wanted, but the most important thing is to get there!
“Title personal, I’m born for my 5th. World Championship and for my 12th the final stage of a great international competition for Portugal, with the same enthusiasm as the first day but with a much stronger ambition, an ambition to go to the meeting of the desire of all of us: desire to win!
“For now, we can smile with the feeling of duty fulfilled, of another resolved stage. But we don’t want to stay around. We want more ! We want so much more! For us, for ours, for Portugal… Off to Qatar!”
