Bayern Munich are hopeful of signing Harry Kane for £85million after positive talks with Tottenham, reports claim.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy met with Bayern executives on Monday to discuss Kane’s future.
The German champions have already had two bids rejected, the latest worth £68.5m plus add-ons.
According to The Times, Bayern signalled their intention to pay £85m and left feeling optimistic a deal can be done.
It is understood Tottenham still want £100m for their all-time leading goalscorer, but the search for possible replacements has begun.
The 30-year-old has entered the final year of his Spurs contract and could leave for nothing next summer.
