Former Chelsea star, Jason Cundy, has tipped Lionel Messi to win his 8th Ballon d’Or.
Lionel Messi played a pivotal role as Argentina lifted the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Messi has won the most prestigious individual award for a record seven times.
France Football, organisers of the award released the names of the nominees on Wednesday and the 37-year-old made the cut.
And former Chelsea defender Cundy, believes the the maestro did not only lifted the World Cup trophy, but ‘dragged’ Argentine to glory in Qatar.
“He has to win it,” he said on talkSPORT.
“He dragged Argentina to the World Cup, scoring in the Final.
“He’s the greatest player to ever wear a pair of football boots, personally.”
