New music “Plans” by Iyanya.
Iyanya officially kicks off 2023 with the release of this dope record titled “PLANS.” The new song, produced by Xtofa and Reward Beatz, is a perfect blend of R&B and Afropop and is about love. The singer wants to know what his lover is thinking before making any future plans with her.
Iyanya, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, rose to prominence in 2008 when he won the first season of the talent show Project Fame West Africa. Known for his blend of slick R&B and bright Afro-pop, he went on to co-found the Made Men Music Group label, where he released several albums and had a hit single with “Kukere” in 2013.
Applaudise, his third album, was released in 2015, but it would be his final for Made Men due to a disagreement with Franklin. Iyanya left Made Men in 2016 after the release of 2015’s Applaudise LP and spent the rest of the decade focusing on singles, including the hits “Biko,” “Up 2 Something,” “No Drama,” “Fever,” and “Ijeoma” (featuring Peruzzi).
Iyanya released three hit singles in 2022: ‘Call’ (featuring Ayra Starr), ‘Like’ (featuring Davido & Kizz Daniel), and ‘One Side‘. After a successful 2022, he decided to bless his fans with a remix of “One Side” before officially kicking off 2023 with a single. The new song “PLANS” is a follow-up to Iyanya’s One Side Remix, which featured Tekno and Mayorkun.
