It’s high time Kemi Filani brought you a review of the much talked about Indian action drama that has been trending since it arrived on Netflix days ago.
The 3 hours long Indian movie which was directed by S. S. Rajamouli, tells a gripping and emotional tale of two legendary revolutionaries and their journey far away from home. After their journey, they return home to start fighting back against British colonialists in the 1920s. It stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris and others.
You see, RRR was 3 hours of pure brilliance with lots of intriguing CGI film tricks that will take you from tears to joy, to laughter, then anxiety, more tears and final satisfaction. You will literally fill all the emotions they want you to feel! Some scenes were so mind-blowing, that we kept thinking about how the director shot them and how he thought about such scenes.
The choreography, cinematography, visual effect, music, acting…everything was spot on.
We absolutely loved Ram Charan; his acting was brilliant, screen presence in fight scenes, and all were top-notch.
Some of our favourite scenes include when Rajul/Ram and Aktar/Bheem met after saving the little kid from the fire, their bromance moments which helped us appreciate the genuine friendship between men, the choreography at Jenny’s party, Bheem invading the British party with the animals, their painful fights and beatings, and oh how we loved the death of the villain, especially his wife…a spoiler if you haven’t it.
Every shot was very planned and we totally agree with Nigerian Movie director, Niyi Akinmolayan who described it thus:
“All Hollywood directors should go kneel at the feet of SS Rajamouli and learn filmmaking. That’s all I have to say for now. This is one of the greatest films ever made. And nothing can match it this year. Nothing!!! Go watch it on Netflix”
