Comedian Alibaba has narrated how he was able to get promoted to Primary 5 without sitting for the promotional examinations.
According to the comedian, he fell ill during the period of the examinations which made him miss it.
However, his class teacher made up a good case for him which convinced the Headmaster to sanction his promotion.
Comedian Alibaba wrote:
”When I was in primary 4 in St Michaels Primary school, Ojo in the 70s, I took ill before the 3rd term examination… so I didn’t sit for the exam.

But in spite of that, I was still promoted to primary 5. My class teacher at the time, an #ilajeman, who had taken to 3 of us, in his class, because of how creative our minds were, made a case to the Headmaster, Mr Ige (who later joined Lagos State government).

He said, going by the remarkable results I had gotten in 1st and 2nd term, and the assessment of my 3rd term work, I didn’t need a 3rd term result to be promoted.

In fact, with my 1st and 2and term results, I still came 8th.

Again in 2017, yes, there was the usual sports day in St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi. I had always shied away from the parents races. My big bros, @eyimofeatake was the reigning champion. Well some other guys would chance him now and then… but he kept reigning.

Then my mum came visiting one time and was talking with the kids and said, “Una know say una papa for be hunter? He sabi throw javelin. I had a 62.6 throw during inter house sports, back then in Ibru College. Still have the certificate.

She continued, “And he sabi run, swim, play football, volleyball ball, dance, draw, nothing wet he no sabi do…”

“Dadadi can run?”

“Him leg fast pass him mouth”. I had to interrupt the conversation. Before things that will impinge on my integrity begin to be shared like folklore.

Long story short, i was forced to run in St Saviour’s school, by my children. Won every race.

In fact, one time, the race started, and someone said we should stop running, and I stopped. Only to see others breeze pass me. I picked up the race again and still won.

The last race, I was coasting to a win, had muscle pull at about 20mtrs of the 50mtrs and I still came 2nd. That’s was when Mr Keaton, the head teacher, sneaked into first place.
