Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is celebrating his mother, Barrister Mrs Josephine Edochie, on her birthday today, May 12th, 2025.
Taking to his Instagram page to share an old photo of him and his mother, he penned a sweet message to her. Yul wished his mother many more wonderful tears and prayed that God continue to be with her.
“A very happy birthday to my mother, Barrister Mrs Josephine Edochie.
Wishing you many more wonderful years.
May God be with you always”.
Some time back, Yul recounted his visit to her. While sharing a photo with her, Yul gushed over her, describing her as a beautiful woman. He stated that anytime he visits his mother, she will almost empty one bottle of holy water on his head. According to him, his mother always says he is stubborn, hence the need for the holy water, which she believes would cool his head.
Sometimes back, Edochie shared a deep message with the public about parenthood, revealing that he derives joy when he is with his parents. Yul admitted that he was very stubborn as a child, but his parents made sure he became successful.
In other news, Yul revealed one of the greatest lessons he learned from his father, Pete Edochie in his career. The father of five recounted how his father gave him the biggest advice after the first time he directed him in a movie. He had the opportunity to direct his father once again and he blew him away with his artistic prowess and finally Pete him his accolades.
Despite his scandal with his colleague, Judy Austin, which almost wrecked his relationship with his family, there is no doubt that Yul holds his father in high esteem as he never fails to sing his praises.
Back in March, the controversial actor poured encomium on his father as he turned 78, referring to him as one of Nigeria’s greatest icons and the biggest name in Nollywood. Yul called him a great man, a legend, a good man, and a wonderful father. Yul didn’t fail to express how much he loved his father and declared him his man for life.
When the actor began his ministerial work last year, he expressed gratitude to his father for endorsing, supporting, and praying for him.
Also, when Pete Edochie bagged two doctorate degrees from Togo University, Yul had hailed him, calling him the Lion of Africa. He noted how his father deserves the recognition and award.
