The lawyer to embattled social media activist, Vincent Otse better known as Very Dark Man has finally spoken out after he was denied bail on Monday.
Kemi Filani reported on Friday that the socialite was arrested by actress, Tonto Dikeh for cyberbullying and threat to life. Recall that he had accused the actress of being part of the GistLover blog formation, which led to several death threats from haters of the blog, and in return, she had arrested him for his statements, which lacked evidence.
The social media activist who was supposed to be released from detention on Monday was given a heavy bail condition, which has made it very difficult for him to secure bail. His bail condition requires a property and a business owner in Abuja with a government seal of oath and submission of an International passport for 1 year plus N200 million naira.
Speaking out, his lawyer stated that he believes the police will be professional enough to release him on bail. However, if they fail to do, the law will take it’s due course.
He revealed that part of the course of the law is the judicial process and his family and well wishes are entitled to freer protest both online and offline.
He further revealed those behind the arrest which includes actresses Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and singer, Samklef.
The embattled socialite has had beef with the trio in the past few months.
The socialite, who doesn’t seem to be a fan of Tonto, had criticized her for affiliating herself with the All Progressives Congress (APC), a political party in Nigeria known for its thuggery. He also accused her of joining a party known for sending thugs to intimidate people.
He had also clashed with her when she sought the release of Mohbad’s body for a proper burial. He contested her request, revealing that the Nigerian police wouldn’t release the body until their investigation into the cause of Mohbad’s death was complete.
For Iyabo Ojo, the two had gotten into a public spat over her constant interference in the late singer, Mohbad’s case and he had called the actress a failure.
Replying to him, Iyabo rained several unprintable words at him, calling his mother a failure and shameless while adding that his mother failed in raising him. She blamed blogs and music superstar Davido for giving him relevance.
Hitting back at her, Very Dark Man made a shocking allegation, as he accused the movie star cum reality star of engaging in a threesome with her daughter. He went in to label her a failure, suggesting that her involvement in Mohbad’s case was a means to remain relevant in the spotlight and gain public praise.
