Big Brother Naija Level Up winner, Ijeoma Otabor better known as Phyna has opened up on her abortions.
Kemi Filani reported days back that the Edo- State star stirred the internet when she admitted to commiting abortion.
In a recent interview with Vanguard, Phyna revealed why she got rid of her pregnancies at age 19 and 24. According to her, during the first pregnancy, she was still young and coming from a poor background, she couldn’t afford to raise a child. On her second abortion, she had to take the baby out because she was in a toxic relationship.
She said, “Can you tell us the reasons for taking the decision?
As for my reasons for taking abortion pills, if there are 100 women in Nigeria today, 98 have done abortions. So, no one should judge me. I was in a 12-year relationship then and I was so young. The first abortion was when I was 19; I couldn’t go home to tell my parents that I was pregnant at that age. And the two pregnancies were so early like two to three weeks that I could just use tablets. The second was when I was 24, and I had finished serving then. I was ready to keep it but the relationship was getting toxic. He abused me and always beat me up. I said to myself that I couldn’t do this anymore, so I took it out and that was how I ended the relationship”.
Addressing the massive backlash sue received over her statement, Phyna said,
“In my family as a whole, we are very open. People just read meaning to things and say whatever they want, I really do not care. I was just laughing at their responses to me because those that know me know me, I am an open book. I actually responded to that woman when she said “I can’t respond to you, you are an abortionist,” and then I said yes that I have committed abortions. It is fine how people want to see me, I am not ashamed of anything about myself. If I ever make a mistake, I own up to my mistakes. When my dad called me about it, he asked why I said something like that, I just said daddy I learnt it from you oo”.
Phyna admits to having abortions in bombshell revelation
Days back, Kemi Filani reported that Phyna had made some shocking revelation about her personal life.
The BBN winner in a series of Twitter tirades revealed that she has had an abortion multiple times. Phyna made this known as she fought dirty with some trolls who tried comparing her to disqualified co-star, Beauty Tukura.
A troll had stated that Beauty was both her father and mother, to which Phyna wished them happy mother’s day.
Another troll, while trying to ridicule her, took a swipe at her series of abortions.

Responding, Phyna admitted that she has done abortion, however, she doesn’t keep sugar daddies, neither does she force men to sleep with her.
“Yes I have had 2 abortions but I don’t do sugar daddies and force small small boys to sleep with me and hoeing around with disease at least I am not barren due to drugs”.
Phyna opens up on having baby outside wedlock
Recall that months back, Phyna had cleared the air about having a baby outside wedlock.
While in Big Brother’s house, many speculated that Phyna gave birth to a baby girl outside wedlock after photos of Phyna and the alleged child were posted on social media.
Clearing the air in an interview on the E-splash podcast aired on TVC, Phyna pointed out that the child is not her biological daughter.
When asked about the baby, Phyna said: “My baby girl, yea she is fine. I have not seen her, she is with my aunt. It’s not like she is my child o. She’s my elder cousin’s child. His wife died. Since then I have been taking care of her. A lot of people think she is my child and yes she is. I am planning on bringing her with me I’m less busy.”
