Nollywood actress cum politician, Funke Akindele has expressed her profound gratitude to her colleague, Deyemi Okanlawon for supporting her political career.
Deyemi had taken to his Instagram page to pen an open note to the mother of two who is vying for the post of deputy governor in Lagos State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Deyemi, Funke has proven to be an outstanding woman whom he sees as an iconic colleague and mentor. He noted that she has proven herself worthy with her career and a series of charity works she has carried out.
Endorsing her, the ace actor said Funke’s desire to serve the people is valid. He prayed that her creator will grant her the grace needed on the path she has chosen.
He wrote: “OPEN LETTER TO FUNKE AKINDELE
“My dear sister @funkejenifaakindele
“For years I have observed you, first from a distance as an iconic colleague then up close as a mentor, and you have proven yourself in your career, business and the many charity and youth programs you support. As an outstanding Nigerian woman your desire to serve through governance is valid and I sincerely wish you God’s abundant Grace! Deyemi Okanlawon”.
Appreciating Deyemi for pitching tent with her, Funke said may the will of God prevail. Her statement means if her party wins or losses in the election slated for March 11th, she would accept her fate.
She wrote: “Thank you brother mi. May God’s will prevail. ❤️”
Ruth Kadiri endorses Funke Akindele
Kemi Filani reported that actress, Ruth Kadiri took to her social media page to endorse Funke Akindele’s political ambition.
Stating why she approves of Funke’s ambition, Ruth said the mother of two is smart, hardworking, tough, and disciplined among other good qualities a politician should have.
She wrote: It’s election season! And @funkejenifaakindele is my candidate. Reasons been. You’re hardworking, You’re smart, You’re tough, You’re emotional, Above all you’re disciplined., You dare to tread where others won’t fly., You’re a risk taker., I know you’re a film maker. Kemi Filani recalls that actress and body positivity advocate, Monalisa Stephen had earlier queried her colleagues in the entertainment industry over their lack of support for one of their own, Funke Akindele.
Taking to her Instagram page, Monalisa Stephen had shown massive support for her senior colleague as she queried others.
According to the plus-size actress, she is supporting who she can trust as she won’t join her other colleagues to sit on the fence. She noted that Funke Akindele is a successful woman who has achieved success. She asked why those the actress has worked for in the industry are not supporting her while noting that she is young and capable of holding the position she is vying for.
