Tragedy struck in Ibadan on Sunday following David Ajiboye, who passed away following a brief illness. The news of his death has gone viral since Sunday and spread into the new week. Since then, Nigerians, as well as prominent people in the country, have been sending their condolences to his family as well as famous gospel singer Yinka Ayefele and the management of Fresh FM.
For those who don’t know, David Ajiboye was the station manager of Fresh FM Ado Ekiti branch, which is a radio station owned by Ayefele with headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo state.
According to the report, Ajiboye was a close partner with the gospel singer and, in fact, was part of the brain that started Fresh FM in 2015, which made him management staff of the organisation.
Aside from this, the record showed that Mr. Ajiboye was a part of the foundation member of the music arm of Yinka Ayefele Limited and also acted as the publicist to Yinka Ayefele and his Merry Maker music band.
He passed away on Sunday (August 8, 2021). However, there are no details about the illness he was battling until his death at an Ibadan based hospital.
The likes of Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde has reacted to the death of David Ajiboye through his Special Assistant (Print) Moses Alao.
The Oyo state governor in his statement, revealed that the sudden demise of Ajiboye was a painful loss, as he described him as a easy going man who was always ready to work for the development of Fresh FM”.
