Beneficiaries of Nigerian singer, David Adeleke aka Davido’s charitable act have penned appreciation messages to the singer.
Kemi Filani reported earlier that the singer had fulfilled his promise of disbursing the N250 millions to 292 orphanages across Nigerians.
Davido had released an official statement as a follow up to his November 2021 press statement where he announced his intention of donating the sun of N200 million received from his friends and family, together with his personal donation of N50 million, to orphanages across Nigerians.
He made this statement hours after a Twitter user called him out for not updating the public.
He tweeted :
“Davido is yet to update the public regarding the N250m he donated, Feb 15th marks two months he promised to give an update. If truly the money has been disbursed, Davido should make an official statement with a full detail of how each dime was spent. People are entitled to know”.
Following the viral tweet, Davido gave an update on the disbursement.
He affirmed that the money has been donated to the selected orphanages and shared the names of orphanages that benefited from his kindness.
Many Nigerians didn’t believe him as they thought the donation was an attempt to warm his way into people’s heart.
Proving that the singer is indeed a generous man, many of the orphanages who benefited from his philanthropic deeds have taken to their Twitter accounts to appreciate him.
