Over the weekend, a Nigerian lady was embarrassed by her boyfriend at the Ikeja City Mall, Lagos.
She knelt down in the mall and proposed to her man, but instead of accepting the ring, he stalled for some time then whispered something into her ear and walked away.
The woman who was obviously embarrassed then got up crying, as her friends consoled her.

Meanwhile the action has since sparked series of reactions on social media with many condemning and mocking the lady in question.
An online reader said “she shouldn’t have made it public either, African guys prefer to be in control, she made the guy feel embarrassed sef”
Another one said “She didn’t need to do this to herself. She could have quietly asked him in private”
Another commenter “Too much zee world .forgetting the fact that she is an Africa woman .you use your hand go market go buy disgrace,Anty u no try chai ……”
A few others condemned the guy saying:
“No matter what, at least accept to avoid the public disgrace and then take her home to tell her the real truth.”
